How do I sign up to Portabl?

Getting started with Portabl is simple and tailored to meet your needs. We provide flexible pricing plans that align with every phase of your freelance career whether you're just starting out, growing your skills, or scaling your business. Head over to the pricing section on our website at portabl.co to explore your options, choose the plan that suits your goals, and sign up.

Can anyone sign up to Portabl?

We are currently focused on supporting professional, independent freelancers and self-employed. However, we are constantly expanding Portabl in line with the future of work trends, so please join our waitlist to hear when our memberships will be available to fresh cohorts.

How do I activate my account?

After signing up for Portabl, you will receive an email prompting you to activate your account. Be sure to check your spam or junk folder in case the email was filtered there. If you still cannot locate the activation email, please reach out to us at hello@portabl.co, and we will gladly resend it to you.

How much does Portabl membership cost?

The cost of a Portabl membership varies based on the package that best suit your need and goals as a freelancer. With flexible options available, you can choose a plan that aligns with your current stage, ensuring you receive the most value.

For Individuals & Small Teams:

  • Starter – Free, with essential access to get started.
  • Growth – £9.49/month, offering enhanced support for growing freelancers.
  • Scale – £20.99/month, providing comprehensive benefits for scaling your business.

For Businesses & Enterprises:

Enterprise – Ideal for companies with complex workflows, offering unlimited users, advanced integrations (Salesforce, SAP, Tableau, Power BI), admin controls, and 24/7 support.

Enterprise+ – Includes all Enterprise features, plus enhanced security (audit logs, SIEM, eDiscovery, encryption) and full platform integration for seamless onboarding.

Do your prices include VAT?

All prices shown on our website and platform include any necessary VAT and/or IPT.

How can I pay for my membership?

We accept payments via GoCardless, providing a secure and reliable payment method. All transactions will be processed in GBP (£). For alternative payment options, please contact us at hello@portabl.co.

What is a bundle?

Our bundles are groups of products we have collected to offer you the best price for all the policies or services included. We are constantly updating our range.

How do I purchase a product?

Products available to be purchased outside of a bundle can be found in the ‘Benefits’ section of your side menu. By selecting a product tile, you can access detailed information about the offer, including the exclusive discounts we have negotiated for our members. From this section, you can add items to your basket or complete your purchase seamlessly through our trusted partners.

Kindly note that some products may require a quote request prior to finalising your purchase.

Can I purchase bundled products on my own?

Currently, our bundled products cannot be purchased individually. This is because the bundle is designed to offer the best possible value for these products. However, we are always working to improve Portabl. If you’d like to see individual products offered in the future, please let us know at hello@portabl.co

Account

How do I log in to Portabl?

Once you have subscribed to Portabl, click "Log In" on our homepage to access your account. Enter your email address and password to proceed.

I've forgotten my Portabl password

If you’ve forgotten your password, simply click on the ‘Forgot your password?’ button at our login screen. You can then enter your email and we’ll send you a link to reset your password.

How do I view and make changes to my Profile?

To view your profile, first you need to login to your account. Once you’ve signed in, you can take the following steps.

Click the icon next to your name in the menu bar and select ‘Profile’. Here, you can view and edit your profile information, including your name, phone number, bio, and photo. You can also choose which email notifications you'd like to receive. Once you're satisfied with the changes, click ‘Save changes’ to update your profile.

How do I cancel my membership?

To cancel your membership, click the icon next to your name in the menu bar and select "Wallet." Then, click the three dots under the action section and choose "Cancel Subscription." You’ll be prompted to choose your preferred cancellation date.

What is your money-back guarantee all about?

We believe in our service. If after your first year of membership you do not feel you have received the equivalent value from your total annual subscription just paid, then let us know and we will return your fee - with no quibbles!

How do I update my phone number?

To update your phone number, simply login to your dashboard and view your profile. You can then type your updated phone number in the ‘Phone number’ box. Click ‘Save changes and your details will be updated for you.

How do I log out?

To log out of your Portabl account, click the icon next to your name at the bottom of the menu bar and then click ‘Log out’. This will log you out of your account.

Dashboard

What is the Portabl Dashboard?

he dashboard offers a customisable overview of essential tools to boost productivity and organisation. It includes my tasks for tracking upcoming, overdue, and completed tasks, and my to-dos for managing personal to-dos. The projects section allows you to view ongoing work, create new projects, and collaborate with team members. Other features include my calendar for managing schedules and deadlines, my notes for capturing quick thoughts and ideas and my connections for managing your professional network, tracking interactions, and collaborating on projects. The flexible layout lets you adjust the arrangement and functionality of widgets to suit your workflow and preferences.

How do I see my active subscriptions?

After logging into your account, you can find your active subscriptions listed under my wallet in the menu bar. By clicking on each tile, you can view detailed information about the product, access your benefits, submit a claim, or review your policy documents.

Wallet

How do I view my Wallet?

To view your Wallet, first log in to your Portabl account. click the icon next to your name at the bottom of the menu bar and then click 'Wallet'.

What can I see in my Wallet?

The Wallet will show you the cost of your next pending payment, the cost of your last successful payment and a breakdown of all your subscription costs. Here you can also manage and cancel your subscriptions.

How do I download an invoice?

Once you have logged into your account, go to the Wallet tab in the menu to view your payment information. You’ll find a tile showing your most recent or upcoming payment. Click the three dots in the action section, select "View Payment," and then click the ‘Download Invoice’ button to download your latest invoice.

Products

How do I make a claim?

The claims process may vary between products, but we’ve added a ‘How to claim’ tab for each product you can make a claim for to help with this.

If you need to make a claim, simply login to your Dashboard and click on the tile of the product you need to claim under. Then click on the ‘How to claim’ tab to see more information.

If it’s possible to make a claim for a product you’ll see the ‘Make a claim’ button at the bottom of the product information tile. Clicking this may bring up a phone number you need to call to start your claim, or a form to fill out your details and allow us to get in touch with you.

How do I view my policy documents?

Once you’ve purchased a product you’ll see this display on your Dashboard. If you click on the product tile you’ll then see more information about this product appear. You can then click the ‘Policy details’ tab to display any documents related to that policy and download these.

How do I access the Portabl community?

With your Portabl membership you’ll also have access to the Portabl community. Our community is where we’ll share useful information, interesting thought pieces and allow you to introduce yourself to likeminded independents too. It’s also where you can find our knowledge base and blog.

What is each community space used for?

Our community consists of a number of spaces, and each can be used for different topics. Our current spaces are:

  • Say hello: Here you can introduce yourself to the rest of the Portabl community and discuss what you love about independent working.
  • Useful resources: This is where we post any resources we think you’ll find useful as an independent. Feel free to let us know if there are any resources you think we should add!
  • Conversations: This space is for you to have discussions with the rest of the community. We post articles, questions and comments we think you’ll want to talk about but feel free to post your own topics, questions, and comments here too.
  • Knowledge base: Here we share short how-to guides to help you get the best out of your Portabl membership. If there’s a question we haven’t answered, just post it – we'll comment with an answer for you.
  • Portabl feedback: We use this space to get feedback from you about what you like about Portabl and what you’d like to see added, so we can make sure we’re always creating the platform you need as an independent worker.
  • Product roadmap: In this space we keep you up to date with our roadmap and plans for Portabl so we can get your feedback on what we should prioritise.
  • Blog: On our blog we publish posts written by us, for you. From topics specific to independents to wellness pieces for everyone, we want to make sure you can always find an interesting read.
